Job summary

Kiewit Power Constructors seeks a Quality Inspector - Welding to ensure welding activities meet project specs, codes and quality standards across active projects. You will inspect, review documents, and support corrective actions with construction, engineering, and quality teams. Travel to project sites as required.

Ideal candidate has 5+ years in welding QA on power/industrial projects, knowledge of AWS/ASME/API, and strong communication skills to report findings and drive quality improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in welding quality inspection or QA on power/industrial projects.
• Experience interpreting welding drawings, specifications, isometrics, and quality docs.
• Knowledge of AWS, ASME, API and related standards.
• Experience reviewing WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and NDE reports.
• Strong inspection methods, testing requirements, and QC procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office and quality reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding inspections to verify compliance with project specs, procedures and codes.
• Review welding records, WPS, PQR, welder qualifications, and NDE reports.
• Monitor welding, fabrication and installation to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Coordinate NDE testing, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Document non-conformances and track to resolution.
• Conduct field audits and quality surveillance of work.
• Collaborate with teams to resolve quality issues and improve execution.
• Maintain inspection reports and turnover documentation.
• Support quality meetings and report project quality performance.
• Promote a culture of quality and safety on sites.
• Assist with subcontractor and vendor quality oversight.
• Support commissioning and closeout by verifying quality requirements.
