Job summary

Preferred Industrial Contractors is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to support industrial construction and maintenance projects. The role ensures all work meets project specifications, codes, and quality standards in the field.

Ideal candidates will have experience in welding inspection, piping, or structural QA/QC and be comfortable working outdoors and traveling as needed to job sites. The position emphasizes thorough documentation and safety compliance on busy projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade school preferred.
• 3–5 years of QC/inspection experience in industrial construction or fabrication.
• Knowledge of ASME, AWS, API or similar codes.
• Certifications such as CWI, API, or NDT Level II preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, isometrics, and welding symbols.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect materials, welds, piping systems, and structural components.
• Review drawings, specifications, and inspection test plans (ITPs).
• Perform visual weld inspections and coordinate NDT/NDE activities.
• Verify welder qualifications and welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
• Maintain inspection documentation (MTRs, weld logs, NCRs, reports).
• Identify and report nonconforming work and support corrective actions.
• Coordinate with field teams, clients, and third-party inspectors.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
