Job summary

CornerStone Staffing is seeking a Welding Lead in Rosenberg, TX to oversee daily welding and fabrication operations for pressure-retaining components. This hands-on leadership role combines advanced welding expertise, pipe fitting, and team supervision to ensure safe, efficient production and timely deadlines.

You will maintain Welding Procedure Specifications and develop a skilled welding team that delivers quality workmanship, while enforcing safety and quality standards across the shop.

Qualifications

• 3–10 years of hands-on welding, pipe fitting, and fabrication experience including pressure-retaining equipment or pressure vessel fabrication.
• 1–3 years of welding lead or supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; ability to interpret blueprints, welding symbols and technical drawings; knowledge of WPS and pressure vessel standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, train, and mentor welders while coordinating daily production schedules, workflow, safety compliance, and quality standards.
• Perform MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Flux Core (FCAW), and Stick (SMAW) welding, including pipe fitting and fabrication of pressure-retaining components.
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Inspect welds for quality, verify WPS compliance, and troubleshoot defects.
• Enforce PPE, equipment maintenance, and shop safety while improving productivity.
