Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. is seeking a Production Lead for the Welding/Quality team on 1st shift in the Brenham/Houston area. You will drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance while leading a hands-on shop floor team.

Responsibilities include coaching welders, interpreting blueprints, and coordinating daily priorities with leadership to ensure efficient production and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of welding experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Strong knowledge of fabrication equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools.
• Fast-paced production environment with safety and quality focus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Basic MS Excel/Outlook proficiency.
• Forklift and crane certification training eligibility.
• PPE compliance and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example to promote a Safety-First culture.
• Provide daily direction to production employees.
• Achieve safety, quality, production, and delivery goals.
• Lead start-up meetings and communicate priorities.
• Monitor performance and address issues affecting safety or quality.
• Ensure quality checks and production paperwork are complete.
• Maintain work instructions and material flow for efficiency.
• Train and coach for consistent methods and performance.
• Give timely feedback and foster teamwork.
• Identify cross-training and RCA opportunities.
• Coordinate maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Prepare department for shift change and communicate across teams.
