Job summary

SGS North America Inc. is seeking a Welding Inspector for a one-month contract in Cleveland, OH, with potential extension. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections on metal parts, verify parts against drawings, and prepare detailed inspection reports.

The role requires AWS CWI or API 510, 5–10 years in welding inspection, and experience in QA/vendor surveillance; oil & gas or related industries are preferred. Strong communication with welders and engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively with welders, engineers and other personnel.
• 5–10 years industrial welding-related inspection experience.
• 5 years in QA / vendor surveillance / shop inspections.
• Industrial experience in Oil & Gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing.
• Experience inspecting welds on pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and other equipment.
• Witnessing NDE tests (UT, PT, MT, RT, etc.) and verifying test reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections and marking verifications on metal parts.
• Verify parts to drawings, perform measurements and document results.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting inspection results and non-conformities.
• Record inspection results and advise on corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with welders, engineers and other personnel.
