Job summary

SGS is seeking a Welding Inspector for a one-month contract in Cleveland, OH. The role involves dimensional and visual inspections of welded parts, verification against drawings, and documentation of results.

The inspector will use provided gauges and report findings, including non-conformities, with some light paperwork. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years in welding inspection, certified AWS CWI or API 510, and experience witnessing NDE tests (UT, PT, MT, RT).

Qualifications

• AWS CWI or API 510 certification required.
• 5–10 years welding inspection experience; 5 years QA/vendor surveillance/shop inspections.
• Industrial experience in Oil & Gas, Power/Utility, Construction or Manufacturing.
• Experience witnessing NDE (UT/PT/MT/RT) and verifying test reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts.
• Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection results and any non-conformities.
• Record inspection results and any non-conformities; investigate root causes and assist corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.
