Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in Ohio, Cleveland, is seeking a Welding Inspector for a one month contract with potential for extension. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections on metal parts, verify drawings and document results, and prepare detailed reports.

The role requires 5–10 years of welding inspection experience, AWS CWI or API 510 certification, and experience witnessing NDE tests. It is a subcontractor engagement with 5 days/week, up to 10 hrs/day, at $45–$50/hr.

Qualifications

• Five to ten years of industrial welding inspection experience.
• At least 5 years in QA/vendor surveillance/shop inspections.
• Industrial experience in Oil & Gas / Power & Utility / Construction / Manufacturing, etc.
• Experience inspecting welds on pipelines, expansion joints, pressure vessels, heat exchangers.
• Witnessing NDE tests (UT, PT, MT, RT) and verifying test reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform dimensional inspections, visual inspections, and marking verifications on metal parts.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting results and non-conformities.
• Investigate non-conformities and assist in corrective actions.
• Communicate effectively with welders, engineers, and other personnel.
