Job summary

Phillips Tank & Structure (PTS) is seeking a Full-time Welder Helper to join our Hawaii field team. Responsibilities include using hand and power tools for fabrication, setting up oxy-fuel or plasma cutting, grinding, and maintaining a clean, safe work area.

Applicants must be 18+, have a high school diploma, and be eligible to work in the United States. Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs, travel as needed, and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Be eligible to work in the United States.
• Pass a criminal background check.
• Have valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation.
• Have good communication skills.
• Be willing to travel anywhere at any time.
• Be willing to work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Use a wide range of hand and power tools for fabrication and assembly.
• Set up oxy-fuel or plasma burning equipment to cut or trim plate and structural steel.
• Cut metal with oxygen/acetylene torch and perform cutting operations.
• Operate grinders, wire brushes, and chipping guns; perform basic maintenance on power tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow prescribed safety procedures.
• Unload fabricated steel products and tools from trucks; move materials around site.
