Job summary

Qualifications

• Leadership and management of others in Welding Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the pressure vessel field or equivalent training in the heavy equipment or construction field.
• Must be able to obtain government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse group of welding engineers, technicians and specialists within the Welding Engineering department to meet commitments for NOG components.
• Coordinate and control welding engineers’ job functions to provide uniform, coordinated direction of short and long range goals.
• Assure staffing levels to support administrative and shop management needs including personnel proposals, requisitioning, interviewing and hiring.
• Collaborate to ensure welding equipment and cells operate safely and efficiently.
• Review engineering drawings for economical fabrication of high quality welds.
• Plan for future needs to maintain timely equipment, weld development and qualifications.
• Provide technical welding engineering support for shop welding surveillance across processes.
• Define weld process capability and limits to achieve first-time quality.
