Job summary

You will drive staffing, training, and process improvements, coordinate with multiple departments, and ensure compliance with NAVSEA, ASME, and customer requirements. A BS in Welding Engineering and demonstrated leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Welding Engineering or related field.
• Experience leading welding engineers, technicians and specialists.
• Ability to manage safety, quality, schedule and cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead a diverse group of welding engineers, technicians and specialists within the Welding Engineering department.
• Ensure the unit aligns with safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
• Staffing, hiring, and development across welding teams.
• Coordinate with other departments to optimize weld process efficiency.
• Ensure welding equipment and cells operate safely.
• Review drawings for economical fabrication of high quality welds.
• Define weld process capability and robustness with stakeholders.
• Support welding technology initiatives and future needs.
• Prepare weld data sheets and qualify welding procedures.
• Respond to welding and metallurgical problems to maintain contractual obligations.
