Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Front Line Manager II for Fabrication & Welding in Barberton, Ohio. You will lead union trades across fitting, welding, and assembly, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence. The role is primarily on 3rd shift with overtime as needed.

You’ll direct production plans, coordinate multiple teams, and drive continuous improvement using GD&T knowledge and modern shop tools. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of supervisory experience in heavy-manufacturing or fabrication.
• Proven experience supervising union skilled trades in welding, fitting, or heavy fabrication.
• Strong technical background in welding, fitting, and multi‑team coordination.
• Able to work autonomously and resolve issues with limited precedent.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple production teams across fitting, welding, assembly and fabrication processes.
• Plan, coordinate, and direct activities across buildings, work centers, and product lines to meet goals.
• Oversee welding operations—manual, automatic, and robotic—ensuring procedures and controls are followed.
• Input, analyze, and manage labor time, schedules, and workflow data in computer systems.
• Identify improvements to efficiency, safety, and cost; support new technologies and standards.
