Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. (BWXT) is seeking a Front Line Manager II – Fabrication & Welding for the Barberton, OH facility. You will lead multiple production teams across fitting, welding, and fabrication operations, coordinating shifts and ensuring safety and quality throughout complex processes.

The role focuses on cross‑shift planning, continuous improvement, and strong people leadership. A strong technical background in welding and fabrication, union experience, and U.S.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of relevant heavy‑manufacturing or fabrication supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Proven experience supervising union skilled trades in welding, fitting, stress‑relief, lifting/handling, or heavy fabrication operations.
• Strong technical background in welding processes, fitting, heavy fabrication methods, and multi‑team coordination across multiple buildings or work centers.
• Ability to work autonomously within established practices, exercising sound judgment to resolve operational and technical issues with limited precedent.
• Motivated to support production teams, proactively identify issues, and drive timely resolution.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging and influencing employees and leaders of diverse backgrounds and generations.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple production teams across fitting, welding, assembly, and fabrication operations.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise cross‑shift production activities to meet schedules.
• Use data systems to manage labor time, schedules, and workflow.
• Identify and implement process improvements for safety and efficiency.
• Coordinate between buildings and work centers to ensure smooth operations.
