Job summary

Autokiniton seeks a welding engineer to join our Engineering Team. You will develop welding technologies for new products, specify equipment, consumables, and robotic systems, and help integrate plant floor welding equipment.

You will train weld engineers and trades, lead root cause analyses, and coordinate across departments to improve weld quality, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years related experience.
• Hands-on experience in manual and automated welding processes.
• Knowledge of MIG and Spot-welding processes.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow.
• Excellent hands-on welding and training skills.
• Knowledge in robotic welding and material handling applications.
• Knowledge in robotic programming (ABB, Fanuc).
• Understanding of electrical/controls circuitry and schematics.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and weld drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop welding technologies related to new products requirements.
• Support Operations in acquiring equipment knowledge.
• Provide input into departmental strategic goals with measurable support.
• Specify welding equipment, consumables, electrical and mechanical systems, robotic systems, and related components.
• Assist in development of the weld quality control process.
• Guide design, develop and test welding methods, materials, processes and results.
• Support project engineering on new and existing programs.
• Assist in integration, start-up and debugging of welding equipment.
• Champion engineering changes and coordinate with all departments.
• Train and mentor welding process for weld engineers and trades colleagues.
• Participate in root cause analysis and team problem solving (8D, meetings).
