KLA Industries, Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Welding Engineer to own welding processes for precision components, develop repeatable joining methods, and partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity, productivity, and product performance.

The role requires hands-on experience in manufacturing welding, knowledge of welding metallurgy, and the ability to analyze problems and communicate clear corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on welding process development and troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate corrective actions with production teams.
• Preferred: experience with precision assemblies and automated welding; relevant welding qualifications or certifications.

Responsabilités

• Own welding processes, develop and optimize procedures, parameters, tooling and fixturing.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion and weldability for reliable production.
• Support qualification activities and maintain technical records per customer/industry requirements.
• Investigate weld defects and root cause analysis; implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Collaborate with design engineers to improve joint accessibility and manufacturability.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and transfer to production.
• Train production personnel and prepare work instructions and process controls.
• Evaluate equipment and process improvements to reduce scrap, rework and cycle time; ensure safe operations.
