BestLogic Staffing is seeking a Welding Engineer on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of precision components in Buffalo, NY. This role offers an annual salary range of $90,000 to $130,000 and requires hands-on expertise in welding processes within a manufacturing setting.

You will own welding procedures, optimize joint designs, and collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity, productivity, and product performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint preparation, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain the associated technical records against applicable customer and industry requirements.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and the transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements that reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while supporting safe operations.

BestLogic Staffing is recruiting on behalf of our client, a manufacturer of temperature sensors, compression seal fittings, and cable and harness assemblies.

Position Summary

Provide technical ownership of welding processes used to manufacture precision components and assemblies. This role develops repeatable joining methods, resolves production challenges, and partners with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity, productivity, and product performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint preparation, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain the associated technical records against applicable customer and industry requirements.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and the transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Hands‑on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems, work directly with production teams, and communicate clear corrective actions.

Proposed Qualifications

Preferred Background

Experience with precision assemblies, stainless steels or nickel alloys, automated welding, and relevant welding qualifications or certifications is preferred. Specific welding processes and governing standards will be confirmed by the client.
