Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering or related field required.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems and communicate corrective actions clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, joint preparation, tooling and fixturing.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability for reliable processes.
• Support qualification activities and maintain related records to customer/industry standards.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility and manufacturability.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and production transfer.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions and process controls.
• Evaluate equipment and process improvements to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while ensuring safety.
