Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC seeks a Weld Engineer to develop and sustain welding and additive manufacturing processes with hands-on shop support and strong problem-solving skills. You will lead technical teams, drive qualifications, and collaborate across departments to meet industry standards.

The role requires coordinating with quality, NDT, and materials labs to ensure certification, writing procedures, and advancing process improvements in welding and additive manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Weld Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Materials Science; comparable experience considered.
• Minimum 1–3 years as a weld engineer or additive manufacturing research.
• Experience building and maintaining a certified weld program.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the welding program (AWS, ASME and others). Collaborate with quality as to certification enhancements.
• Provide on-floor support to welders and engineering team in welding/additive processes.
• Work with the NDE team to develop and sustain a weld inspection program.
• Develop and implement manufacturing procedures for welding and additive manufacturing.
• Write customer-facing work procedures for new/repaired products.
• Review process and welder qualification samples with materials lab; adjust practices as needed.
