Job summary

Client Growth Resources, Inc. is seeking a Welding Engineer to own welding processes for precision components, develop repeatable joining methods, and partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve weld integrity, productivity, and product performance.

The role involves planning weld trials, supporting qualification activities, and guiding fabrication teams to implement process controls and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy, engineering drawings, weld symbols, inspection methods, and process documentation.
• Ability to analyze technical problems, work directly with production teams, and communicate clear corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint preparation, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain records to meet customer and industry requirements.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements that reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while ensuring safe operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
