Job summary

Connectly Recruiting is seeking a Welding Engineer for a manufacturing client focused on precision components. You will take technical ownership of welding processes, develop repeatable joining methods, and partner with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to enhance weld integrity and productivity.

Responsibilities include procedures, tooling, qualification support, root-cause analysis, and transfer of products to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience developing and troubleshooting welding processes in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of welding metallurgy and weld symbols.
• Strong problem‑solving and cross‑functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and optimize welding procedures, process parameters, joint preparation, tooling, and fixturing for new and existing products.
• Evaluate materials, joint designs, heat input, distortion, and weldability to establish reliable production processes.
• Support procedure and welder qualification activities and maintain the associated technical records.
• Investigate weld defects and process variation; lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions with manufacturing and quality.
• Partner with design engineers to improve joint accessibility, manufacturability, and assembly consistency.
• Plan welding trials and support inspection, testing, process validation, and the transfer of new products into production.
• Train production personnel on approved methods and prepare work instructions, acceptance criteria, and process controls.
• Evaluate welding equipment and process improvements that reduce scrap, rework, and cycle time while supporting safe operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
