Chart Industries is seeking a Welder/Fabricator based in Windsor, CT. The role focuses on welding components in various positions and working with TIG and MIG processes to meet blueprints and specifications.

You will review drawings, set up parts, and operate fabricating equipment while maintaining quality standards and safety. The position requires a High School diploma and at least three years of welding experience, with certification considered a plus.

Responsibilities

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Perform TIG and MIG welding on a daily basis.
• Review blueprints, instructions, and job specs to determine materials, tools, and procedures.
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts before assembly using measuring tools.
• Weld aluminum and stainless steel as required.
• Clamp, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt parts to achieve correct configurations.
• Operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, rollers, saws, plasma cutter, and punch press.
• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using measuring devices.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow safety procedures.

We are currently seeking a Welder/Fabricator based at our Windsor, CT location.

What Will You Do

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be

• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Perform TIG and MIG welding on a daily basis
• Reviews blueprints, work instructions, and job specifications to determine appropriate materials, tools, and procedures needed to complete processes
• Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Weld separately or in combination, using aluminum and stainless steel
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
• Set up and operation of fabricating machines, such as shears, brakes, rollers, saws, seam welder, plasma cutter and punch press.
• Verifies conformance of work pieces to specification, using square, ruler and measuring tape.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require

Standing, bending, stooping for long periods of time. Walk the production floor. Lift up to 25lbs. Look at computer screen.

Your Experience Should Be

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 3 plus years of welding experience.
• Current and valid certification a plus
• Must possess mechanical aptitude
