Broadwind Heavy Fabrications has openings in our Industrial Fabrications division for welder/fabricators. We have openings on 1st shift from 5am-3pm and 2nd shift from 3pm to 1am, Monday through Thursday. We offer a $1.00 per hour shift premium for hours worked on 2nd shift.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Use of blueprints, tape measure, and mathematical skills
• Inspect parts prior to fit and ensure proper alignment
• Ensure orientation of part is correct
• Visually inspect parts prior to fitting to ensure proper conformance
• Visually inspect joints for cleanliness and depth
• Fit parts, while keeping within specifications
• Weld flat and horizontal GMAW
• Weld flat, horizontal, and vertical flux core
• Operate overhead crane; properly inspect rigging equipment and use proper rigging techniques
• Complete operator sign-off
• Record job and section in time matrix
• Follow all EHS policies to work safely; fully engage in behavioral-based safety initiatives

Qualifications

• 1 to 5+ years of current and directly related welding experience
• Candidate must be able to pass a Jaeger J2 vision test
• Must be able to complete and pass weld qualification test(s)
• Able to read and follow instructions and consistently weld within parameters
• Able to meet the physical demands of this welding work - stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, walking, and standing
• We complete drug screening prior to hire
• We have expectations around attendance, tardiness, and quality of work
