Job summary

Miratechcorp in Maryville, TN is seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld stainless steel parts, read plans, and ensure safety, accuracy and timeliness in every job.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of metalworking experience, ability to work with limited supervision, and proficiency with tape measures, calipers, forklifts and cranes. Certification is a plus, and lifting up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Proficient in TIG welding of stainless steel parts.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and diagrams.
• Experience with metalworking equipment in a fabrication facility.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with team lift if needed.
• Welding certification is a plus and MIG or TIG experience preferred.
• Strong safety mindset and adherence to PPE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding based on product needs; weld round and rectangular elements.
• Read blueprints and diagrams to perform tasks accurately.
• Ensure QA and product specifications are met.
• Deburr and grind metal to achieve desired surface texture.
• Conserve resources to meet budgetary and client needs.
• Possess welding safety knowledge and use PPE provided.
• Possibly perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Metals Supervisor

Cooperates with: Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Primary Responsibility: The welder has primary responsibility of TIG welding stainless steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary task.
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE's provided.
• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• 1 + year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.
• Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.
• Welding certification a plus.
• Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder helpful.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.
