Job summary

MIRATECH in Knoxville is seeking a Welder to primarily perform TIG welding on stainless steel parts, ensuring safety, accuracy and timeliness. The role requires reading plans and blueprints, adhering to QC standards, and maintaining surface texture through deburring and grinding.

The candidate will work with welding safety procedures, PPE, and may perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as needed, with additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience with metalworking equipment.
• Ability to read plans and blueprints.
• Welding certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and diagrams to perform tasks.
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and use of PPE.
• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Cooperates with:

Welding, Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Primary Responsibility:

The welder has primary responsibility of TIG welding stainless steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements.


• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary task.


• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.


• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.


• Conserve resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.


• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE's provided.


• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.


• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.


• 1 + year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.


• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.


• Excellent verbal communication skills.


• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.


• Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.


• Welding certification a plus.


• Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder helpful.


• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.


• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.
