Job summary

MIRATECH in Knoxville is seeking a skilled TIG welder to join our manufacturing team. The role focuses on TIG welding aluminum and stainless steel parts with emphasis on safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area.

Responsibilities include reading plans, interpreting blueprints, adhering to QC standards, and performing related substrate assembly duties as needed. A high school diploma and 1+ year experience are required; welding certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1+ year of metalworking experience in a metal fabrication setting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with measuring tools (tape measure, calipers).
• Welding certification is a plus.
• Experience with MIG or TIG welding is helpful.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.

• Perform TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel parts, following product needs.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and drawings.
• Adhere to QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources to meet budget and client expectations.
• Follow welding safety procedures and use provided PPEs.
• Perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Knoxville Plant Manager

Cooperates with: Welding, Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Schedule: M - F 2:00PM - 10:30PM

Primary Responsibility: The welder has primary responsibility of TIG welding of aluminum stainless steel parts. Each job must be run with safety, accuracy and timeliness in the welding area.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform TIG welding based on product needs; welding round and rectangular elements.
• Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and other written instructions and diagrams to perform necessary task.
• Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
• De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
• Conserve resources wherever possible to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
• Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE's provided.
• Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma.
• 1 + year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.
• Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.
• Welding certification a plus.
• Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder helpful.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.
