Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a Welder 1 for our Winamac, IN manufacturing operation. This full-time role focuses on MIG welding on a production line to assemble refuse trucks.

Responsibilities include layout, tack welding, welding along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines, inspecting bead size, and ensuring parts fit per blueprints. Requirements: high school diploma or GED, 1+ year welding experience, ability to read tapes and blueprints; EHS tests required.

  • 1+ years of related welding experience or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret simple instructions, blueprints, and measuring tools.

Responsibilities

  • Position parts in jigs or fixtures and tack weld on the production line.
  • Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines to assemble refuse trucks components.
  • Inspect bead size and weld quality, and prepare parts by scarfs or grooves as needed.

This is a full time position with great benefits including but not limited to Health Insurance, 401K Plan, Paid Vacation/Sick time, and so much more. The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.**Pay: $23.41 Shift: First****Responsibilities*** Positions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks* Working in a production line, Welding Refuse trucks assembly* Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces* Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines* Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
