Galbreath, LLC is looking for a full-time Welder to join our manufacturing team in Winamac, IN. The ideal candidate will support the assembly of refuse trucks and must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Wastequip has an immediate opportunity for a Welder to support our Winamac, IN manufacturing operation. This is a full time position with great benefits including but not limited to Health Insurance, 401K Plan, Paid Vacation/Sick time, and so much more.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks.
• Work in a production line, welding refuse truck assembly.
• Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces.
• Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
• Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch; turn regulator valves to activate flow of gases, light torch, and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
• Hold and guide torch at proper angle to cut metal.
• Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Scar or groove welds and parts.
• Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Employee must regularly stand, walk, reach, stoop, lift, climb or balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move 90 lbs.
• Specific vision abilities required include distance vision, close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of related experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading, fractions & decimals.
• Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring tape.
• Experience in a fast‑paced production environment preferred.
• Must be able to pass all EHS required tests and clearances.
