Job summary

Olympic Steel, Inc. is seeking a Welder/Fabricator in Powder Springs, GA to support continuous improvement and safety initiatives. The role includes setting up and welding parts according to blueprints or schematics, with TIG welding on stainless steel.

The position may involve assisting with operation, assembly, and other warehouse duties as needed. MIG, TIG, and flux core experience is preferred, and a strong focus on quality is essential.

Qualifications

  • Stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum welding experience required.
  • MIG, TIG and flux core welding experience preferred.
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Mechanically inclined with safety and quality focus.
  • Basic math skills expected.
  • Familiarity with measuring devices (micrometers, calipers, straightedges).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and weld parts per blueprint or schematic requirements.
  • Assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties as needed.
  • TIG welding experience on stainless steel is required.

Job Description

The Welder/Fabricator supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the set up and welding of parts according to blueprint or schematic requirements. The Welder will also assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties as needed. Must have Tig welding experience on Stainless steel.

Qualifications:

  • Stainless and carbon steel as well as aluminum
  • Mig, tig and flux core experience preferred
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious
  • Basic math skills
  • Understanding of devices such as micrometers, calipers, straightedges and other various measuring tools
