Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to support CI initiatives by improving safety, quality, and efficiency. The role involves setting up and welding parts per blueprints and schematics, and assisting with operations, assembly, and related warehouse tasks.

The ideal candidate has TIG welding experience on stainless steel, reads blueprints, and demonstrates mechanical aptitude with basic math skills. A safety‑conscious, production‑oriented mindset is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Stainless and carbon steel as well as aluminum.
  • Mig, tig and flux core experience preferred.
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Understanding of measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and weld parts according to blueprints or schematics.
  • Assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties as needed.
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards during welding.

Job Description

The Welder/Fabricator supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the set up and welding of parts according to blueprint or schematic requirements. The Welder will also assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties as needed. Must have Tig welding experience on Stainless steel.
