Job summary

Olympic Steel in Bartlett, IL is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up and weld parts according to blueprints, supporting continuous improvement and ensuring safety, quality and efficiency.

This role also supports assembly and other warehouse duties as needed, with comprehensive benefits including health coverage, 401(k) with match, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of MIG/TIG welding experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Mechanical orientation with safety and quality focus.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Experience with measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and weld parts per blueprint requirements.
  • Assist with operation, assembly and warehouse duties as needed.

Job Description

The Welder/Fabricator supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the set up and welding of parts according to blueprint or schematic requirements. The Welder will also assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience with MIG/TIG
  • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious
  • Basic math skills
  • Understanding of devices such as micrometers, calipers, straightedges and other various measuring tools
