Job summary

Olympic Steel in Powder Springs, GA is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to support continuous improvement and contribute to safety, quality, and efficiency. The welder will set up and weld parts according to blueprints or schematics and assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties. TIG welding on stainless steel is required.

Qualifications

• Welding experience on stainless and carbon steel, and aluminum.
• Proficiency reading blueprints and schematics.
• Mechanical inclination with strong safety and quality focus.
• Basic math skills for setup and measurement.
• Familiarity with measuring devices such as micrometers and calipers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and weld parts per blueprint or schematic requirements.
• Assist with operation, assembly and warehouse duties as needed.
• Utilize TIG welding on stainless steel, with attention to quality and safety.

Job Description

The Welder/Fabricator supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. The Welder/Fabricator is responsible for the set up and welding of parts according to blueprint or schematic requirements. The Welder will also assist with operation, assembly and other warehouse duties as needed. Must have Tig welding experience on Stainless steel.

Qualifications:

• Stainless and carbon steel as well as aluminum
• Mig, tig and flux core experience preferred
• Ability to read/interpret blueprints and schematics
• Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious
• Basic math skills
• Understanding of devices such as micrometers, calipers, straightedges and other various measuring tools
