Job summary

Wastequip Steel Division in Lakeland, FL is seeking a MIG Welder to support our manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will perform tack welds and full welds in a fast-paced setting, reading blueprints and using measuring tools to ensure precision.

This role requires lifting up to 90 lbs and standing for extended periods. Responsibilities include positioning parts in jigs, welding along vertical, horizontal and overhead lines, and preparing finished welds while adhering to safety standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and take measurements accurately.
• Willingness to stand for long periods and lift up to 90 lb as required.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures and tack weld as directed.
• Weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines with proper technique.
• Connect regulator valves and adjust gas flow for cutting and welding.
• Inspect welds for bead size and quality specifications.
• Prepare and finish welds by removing slag and smoothing surfaces.

The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.Pay Rate: $20.04ResponsibilitiesPositions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marksLays out, positions, and tack welds work piecesWelds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld linesConnects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
