Job summary

Wastequip Steel Division is hiring a Welder for our New Salisbury, NC operation. The role requires MIG welding in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, reading blueprints, and precise tape-measure work. You will set parts, Weld along multiple planes, and prepare welds for finishing.

Qualifications

  • MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Ability to read simple instructions, memos, and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of tape measure reading, fractions and decimals helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Position parts in jigs or fixtures and tack weld as directed.
  • MIG welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead lines.
  • Connects regulator valves and adjusts gas flow for cutting and welding.
  • Inspect weld beads and grind off slag and excess material.
  • Lifts and carries up to 90 lbs as required; maintains a safe workspace.

Job Description:Wastequip Steel Division has an immediate opportunity for a Welder to support our New Salisbury, NC Steel manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate will be a MIG Welder with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.Hourly Rate: $24.29Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30PM, with occasional SaturdaysResponsibilitiesPositions parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marksLays out, positions, and tack welds work piecesMIG Welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld linesConnects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch. Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch, and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
