Job summary

Wastequip is seeking a welder with MIG welding expertise to assemble components per prints, layouts, and jigs. The role includes welding in multiple positions, operating gas torches, and inspecting bead sizes to meet quality standards.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and MIG welding experience. Prior work in fast-paced production environments and ability to pass EHS requirements are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• MIG welding experience is required.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Knowledge of basic math, tape measure reading preferred.
• Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred.
• Ability to pass all EHS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamps parts together along layout marks.
• Lays out, positions, and tack welds work pieces.
• MIG welds along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
• Connects regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torch.
• Turns regulator valves to activate flow of gases, lights torch and adjusts gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
• Holds & guides torch at proper angle to cut metal.
• Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
• Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.
• Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
• Completes tasks while adhering to production schedules
• Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
