Job summary

The City of Irving is seeking a skilled welder with strong hands-on experience to coordinate welding projects and source materials, while performing and inspecting repairs on city equipment and vehicles. You will also inspect shop gear, keep detailed records, and offer technical welding guidance to the team.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with two years of MIG, TIG and Stick welding experience; Texas driver’s license required, and certification or formal training preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years experience in MIG, TIG and Stick welding required.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate work projects and the acquisition of welding materials and equipment parts.
• Perform and inspect welding repairs on machinery, tools, equipment and city vehicles.
• Inspect shop equipment to ensure proper working order.
• Maintain records related to welding activities and repairs.
• Provide technical advice on welding activities; assist mechanic as needed.

PAY GRADE GG15 / FULL PAY RANGE $23.10 - $32.56 PER HOUR
