Job summary

The Dauphin County Library System in Elizabethville, PA is seeking a part-time Public Services Assistant to be the first point of contact for patrons, provide friendly help, and connect visitors with library programs and services.

You will assist patrons with account inquiries, locate materials, offer Readers' Advisory, help with basic computer use, and troubleshoot simple tech issues while delivering courteous service in person and by phone.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED.
• Experience: One year experience working with the public.
• Requires ability to lift 30 lbs. and reach/bend to place books on shelves.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with account inquiries and fines.
• Help patrons locate library materials and answer basic reference questions.
• Provide Reader's Advisory and information about programs.
• Assist with basic computer use and troubleshoot simple issues.
• Answer calls and greet visitors, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
