Job summary

Vigor Marine Group in the United States seeks a Welding Supervisor who owns weld quality, welder qualification, and training. You will screen, qualify, assess, and train welders and support the Welding Supervisor in maintaining weld standards and procedures.

You will maintain records, provide feedback to production management, and drive continuous improvement in welding performance, safety, and ergonomics while upholding Vigor Values in a fast‑paced shipyard environment.

Qualifications

• Aluminum welding knowledge including GTAW and GMAW for plate structures and piping.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to read and comprehend work specifications, drawings and technical publications.
• Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Screen, qualify, assess, and train welders per established procedures.
• Maintain hard copy and electronic records of welder qualifications.
• Provide feedback to Production Management for performance appraisals.
• Identify trends in weld inspection metrics to improve training.
• Develop changes to weld procedures and welder qualifications.
• Enforce adherence to weld standards, procedures, and best practices.
