Job summary

KIVI, The E.W. Scripps Company ABC affiliate in Boise, Idaho, seeks an Evening Meteorologist to deliver accurate, engaging forecasts across TV, radio, streaming, and digital platforms.

You’ll report live from events, write weather stories, and collaborate with photographers and editors to keep Treasure Valley informed and safe. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or equivalent experience and 5+ years in weather broadcasting, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in meteorology or equivalent experience.
• Generally 5+ years of weather broadcasting experience.
• Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver daily weathercasts using weather data and graphics.
• Deliver urgent weather updates interrupting programming as needed.
• Produce weather materials for TV, radio, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Assist management evaluating new weather data gathering/presentation systems.
• Report live from events or mobile broadcast unit.
• Write and produce weather stories for multiple platforms on deadline.
• Collaborate with photographer when assigned.
• Gather and verify factual information through interview, observation, research.
• Perform other duties as needed.
