Mexic-Arte Museum in downtown Austin is seeking a part-time, hourly Retail Associate. You will greet visitors, answer questions about exhibits and programs, and promote memberships and merchandise. The role requires weekend availability and a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities include operating the POS, handling transactions, and assisting in events. Experience in retail and basic Excel/Sheets use is preferred. Immediate start is ideal.

Qualifications

• Must have at least an associate degree or be currently enrolled in college.
• Retail experience required.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred but not required.
• Flexible schedule and weekend availability required.
• Experience using Excel or Google Sheets preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Welcome and greet visitors to the museum and store.
• Respond to questions in person or over the phone regarding exhibits, events, educational programs, memberships, and local attractions.
• Promote and sell museum memberships, admission tickets, and gift shop merchandise.
• Operate the POS system, process cash and credit card transactions, and manage the cash drawer.
• Participate in store opening and closing procedures, including preparing daily sales reports.
• Maintain a visually appealing sales floor by organizing shelves, displays, and merchandising.
• Keep the store and storage areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
• Restock the sales floor as needed and report low-stock items.
• Assist in museum events when necessary.
