Job summary

The Tucson Museum Of Art and Historic Block is seeking a part-time Visitor Services Associate to manage admissions, assist the museum store, and support the Ed Center desk. You will operate a POS, handle transactions, answer phones, and greet visitors, representing the museum with professionalism.

The role requires 1–2 years of retail experience, familiarity with museum operations, and the ability to stand for several hours.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
1–2 years retail experience, preferably in a museum.
Experience operating a POS system, credit card machine, and basic computer equipment.
Ability to stand for 4–6 hours.
Knowledge of inventory control, merchandising, and store displays.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Strong organizational and people skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Provide a welcoming environment for admissions, store patrons, and visitors.
Assist customers with sales including admissions, memberships, and store purchases.
Greet and direct visitors as needed.
Handle cash accurately according to procedures.
Prepare store for opening by restocking merchandise and checking inventory.
Operate POS with data entry, reporting, and inventory controls.
Demonstrate knowledge of products and exhibitions.
Support sales at special events and exhibitions.
