Job summary

Baptist Health Lexington is seeking a Surgical Tech-OR for the full-time second shift in the Operating Room. The role supports the perioperative plan of care, performing scrub functions and maintaining aseptic technique under RN direction.

The position requires completion of a Surgical Technology program, a technical diploma or associate degree, and CST certification, with on-call weekends, weeknights, and holidays by rotation.

Surgical Tech-OR Full Time I Second Shift (2x12's) Operating Room I Lexington, KY Baptist Health Lexington Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department.

Description Surgical Tech-OR

Functions as a member of the surgical team under the direction of the registered nurse. Performs scrub functions and other roles, which support the perioperative plan of care Demonstrates knowledge of operative procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of and utilizes principles of aseptic technique including but not limited to gowning, gloving sterilization, and disinfection. Actively participates in unit activities. Ensures positive customer relations interactions. On call weekends, weeknights, and holidays by rotation.

Requirements Surgical Tech-OR
  • Technical Diploma; Associate degree. (Surgical Tech Program)
  • Completion of a Surgical Technology program.
  • National Certification CST Certified Surgical Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
