Baptist Health in Hamburg, KY seeks an Ultrasound Technologist for a full-time first shift weekend role in Diagnostic Imaging. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualified individuals.

The ultrasound team collaborates to provide high-quality care, with radiologists, technologists, and specialists ensuring compassionate support for patients throughout testing and imaging processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited program in sonography or equivalent.
• Current ARDMS certification or eligible.
• Must obtain ARDMS Abdomen and OB-Gyn certifications.
• If not certified on hire, certifications must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• BLS certification required; obtain within 30 days if not already certified.

Responsibilities

Summary: Ultrasound Technologist Full Time I First Shift (weekend) Diagnostic and Imaging I Hamburg, Ky $15,000 Sign on Bonus for Qualified Individuals

The Ultrasound team at Baptist Health works together to provide the highest level of care for every patient. Each team member is highly trained in the use of our advanced imaging technologies and in meeting the individual needs of our patients. Our staff includes fellowship-trained radiologists, radiologic technologists, sonographers and nuclear medicine technologists. From helping you prepare for your tests to listening carefully to your questions and clearly explaining everything you need to know, you’ll appreciate our careful attention and support.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintains a cohesive working relationship and spirit of cooperation with coworkers, other employees and related individuals.

• Maintains a professional working environment and follows all hospital policies and guideline recommendations.
• Follow and implement hospital policies and guideline recommendations.
• Proactively plans and executes daily patient flow and staff schedule.
• Provides supervision and instruction to ultrasound students on site for clinical rotation.
• Actively participates in training new employees in equipment functionality, exam protocols and modifications.
• Produce quality images for Radiologist’s review with correct interpretation.
• Prepares copy of images and records image release in electronic health record.
• Verifies images archived to PACS and notifies PACS administrator of any issues.
• Send images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed.
• Participates in image Peer Review with US Coordinator.
• Works with US Coordinator and Radiologist on ACR accreditation as needed.
• Assists US Coordinator, Radiology Manager, and Radiology Director in equipment and software selections.
• Verifies orders, verifies patient name/birth date and history.
• Documents of all incidents related to patient care on electronic health records (example-incident reports, medications given, etc.)
• Performs and documents time out procedure for invasive procedures.
• Follow department protocol for all exams.
• Provides initial interpretation for exams by department protocol.
• Works with transport and nursing units to coordinate patient exams.
• Continuously monitors the patient throughout the exam.
• Assist Radiologist and authorize providers with exams/procedures as necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate degree.
• Satisfactory completion of an accredited education program in sonography or equivalent.
• Current certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or eligible.
• Must obtain ARDMS certification in Abdomen and OB-Gyn.
• If not certified upon hire, you must obtain certifications within one year of hire. Less than one year.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
