Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Weekend Day Forensic Nurse Examiner Coordinator to perform comprehensive sexual assault examinations and coordinate SAE services for victims of violence at Albany Medical Center. You will work Saturdays and Sundays, 7am–7pm, supporting the SANE program with collaboration across teams and ongoing quality improvement.

The role requires a nursing degree, active RN license, completion of SANE training, and 1–3 years acute care experience; NYS SAFE/SANE

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
Completion of a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner course per IAFN Education Guidelines.
1–3 years of recent acute care RN experience.
RN license and/or compact licensure on hire.
NY SAFE/SANE certifications preferred or required for certain roles.

Responsibilities

Provide forensic examinations for victims of violence on weekends.
Coordinate scheduling and training of SAEs (Sexual Assault Examiners).
Maintain chain of custody and evidence handling; ensure proper documentation quality.
Oversee equipment maintenance, data collection, and grant reporting with Medical Director.
Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, IAFN, and Joint Commission standards; lead outreach and training.
