Job summary

Albany Med Health System seeks a dedicated SANE Program Coordinator to provide weekend day forensic examinations for victims of violence. The role collaborates with the SANE Medical Director to train staff, maintain equipment, and ensure documentation and chain-of-custody integrity across cases.

Responsibilities include scheduling SAEs, ensuring timely participation, data collection for grants, and ongoing quality improvement aligned with NYSDOH and IAFN standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Complete a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner course per IAFN guidelines.
• RN with state licensure and current clinical competencies.

Responsibilities

• Train residents, nurses, and MDs to standardize care for victims of violence.
• Coordinate scheduling and ensure SAEs' commitments are met.
• Maintain forensic equipment and chain of custody of evidence.
• Develop NYS training for SAFE/SANE examiners and arrange classes.
• Conduct quarterly staff meetings for process improvement.
• Ensure compliance with NYSDOH, IAFN and Joint Commission standards.
