Job summary

Newport News Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a qualified Weekend Nursing Supervisor (RN) to lead our clinical team and ensure high-quality resident care on weekend shifts. The ideal candidate will mentor staff, oversee care plans, and maintain compliance with facility policies.

We require an unencumbered RN license, 3+ years of nursing experience (preferably in long-term care) and at least 1 year in nursing administration, with strong leadership and weekend flexibility.

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license in the state of practice.
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience (preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar).
• At least 1 year of experience in nursing administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead & Supervise Nursing Staff – Manage daily staffing needs, ensuring adequate coverage and quality resident care.
• Staff Development & Training – Assist in ongoing education, ensuring all staff are equipped to provide exceptional care.
• Direct Resident Care – Provide hands-on nursing care, ensuring residents' medical needs are met in accordance with individualized care plans.
• Resident Assessments – Conduct and document comprehensive evaluations upon admission and throughout their stay.
• Treatment Planning & Compliance – Assist in developing and implementing personalized treatment plans while ensuring adherence to resident rights and facility policies.
• Recruit & Retain Nursing Talent – Play a key role in the hiring and retention of skilled nursing professionals.
• Conflict Resolution & Advocacy – Address concerns from residents and families, ensuring grievances are handled professionally and effectively.
• Drive Continuous Improvement – Implement new ideas, enhance processes, and support a positive, results-driven management team.
