Job summary

UPMC Passavant is seeking a Full Time Weekend Registered Nurse to support the 5 Pav Unit. Weekend shifts cover 24 hours from Friday 3pm through Monday 7am, providing care for orthopedic and other surgical patients.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration with physicians and staff, and delivering high-quality patient care during edge-of-weekend coverage. The Professional Staff Nurse will set standards for care, supervise patient activities, and foster partnerships with patients and families

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse.
• Weekend shifts availability required.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive working relationships internally and externally by demonstrating accountability for actions, enthusiasm, motivation and commitment to patients and colleagues.
• Demonstrates knowledge of adult learning principles and applies in teaching of patients and families, students and new staff.
• Applies the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment and plan of care.
• Demonstrates accountability for professional development and participates in unit-based governance and quality initiatives.
• Participates in department or unit-specific quality improvement efforts and uses evidence-based practice to improve patient care.
