Job summary

UPMC St. Margaret’s 4B orthopedic unit seeks a Professional Staff Nurse to care for patients after joint replacements, fractures, and other orthopedic procedures. This role focuses on sharpening assessment, prioritization, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Shifts rotate 6:00 AM–6:00 PM and 6:00 PM–6:00 AM, with 72 hours per pay period and weekends/holidays per unit guidelines. Whether new graduate or seasoned RN, you’ll grow through collaboration and dedicated patient care.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required or pending eligibility.
• Ability to apply evidence-based practice to patient care.
• Strong clinical assessment and priority-setting skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates in quality improvement efforts and promotes patient satisfaction with care and service.
• Applies nursing process within Relationship Based Care to plan and deliver holistic care.
• Communicates effectively with care team, patients, and families; documents care thoroughly.
• Contributes to patient safety, staff development, and collaborative practice.
• Advances professional development and supports governance and change processes to improve care.
