Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for weekend shifts to support patient care within our unit. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, develop and adjust care plans, and coordinate discharge planning in collaboration with patients, families, and the health-care team.

Responsibilities include accurate documentation, education using teach-back methods, and ensuring safe medication administration and efficient handoffs.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• Registered nurse with Illinois license.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA) required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive assessments with documented findings.
• Communicates changes in patient condition promptly.
• Derives outcomes from assessments and updates care plan with realistic goals.
• Collaborates with patient/family and care team for discharge planning and referrals.
• Educates patients and families using teach-back and provided materials.
• Ensures safe medication administration and accurate bedside handoffs.
