Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with multi-state compact or state privileges.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate nursing care with patients and families.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds and promotes a culture of safety.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies per protocols.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and delegation within the team.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics and ethical decision-making in patient care.
• Appropriate delegation to RNs, LPNs, and other staff; maintains accurate EHR documentation.
• May float to other units or facilities within the service area as needed.
