Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for weekend shifts at Palos Hospital in Palos Heights, IL. The role requires an IL RN license, BSN preferred, with ADN acceptable if a BSN will be pursued within three years, and BLS at minimum. ACLS/PALS/ENPC and TNCC may be required depending on ER assignment.

The RN will assess patients, organize data, plan care, educate families, and coordinate discharge planning, while collaborating with the care team to meet patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and IL RN licensure are required.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS/PALS/ENPC and TNCC within one year may be required depending on unit.
• ADN accepted if there is a commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.
• Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and analytic skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess and record patient status and care needs on admission or point of care.
• Organize health data for accuracy and accessibility.
• Identify problems needing immediate attention and validate diagnoses with the team.
• Document diagnoses and plan of care to achieve outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning and educate patients and families.
• Communicate with the health care team and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
