Job summary

The Chateau at Brooklyn Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join our skilled nursing team. The RT will provide patient assessments, initiate therapies, manage equipment, and support nursing staff in a geriatric setting.

Requirements include a COARC-accredited AS or BS in Respiratory Therapy and licensure as RRT or CRT, with BLS. Weekend coverage (Saturday and Sunday) is required. Salary ranges from $48 to $52 per hour.

Qualifications

• Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
• Licensed as RRT or CRT.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Completes assessments and implements Respiratory techniques for patients with various respiratory illnesses/diseases.
• Initiate therapies, maintain patient records, operate, check, and assemble equipment.
• Complete a variety of bedside treatments.
• Complete in-services for nursing staff every quarter.
• Responsible for completing daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
• Attend applicable IDT meetings.
• Experience with tracheotomy.
• Experience in long-term care setting.
• Follow procedures and protocols of the facility.
• Completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
• Performs related duties as required.
